What a great experience! Chef is SO knowledgable and weaves his culinary expertise into the architectural history tour. The meal he prepared was amazing! I am still dreaming of the shrimp and grits - and all the dishes prepared. If you like history - AND food & wine, this is the tour for you.

Chef Forrest was informative and made this a fun time. We walked through back streets through beautiful gardens. A fabulous chef whose passion for the history of food & ingredients and a collector of menus from years ago makes for an amazing unique learning experience. A full course dinner — so bring your appetites!!

Chef Forrest is knowledgeable, entertaining and a fabulous chef. We loved learning the history of Charleston and how different cuisines were brought into Charleston cooking. This tour is totally worth it.

Chef Forrest, being a native of the city, really brought the city to life as we strolled through the oldest part of historic Charleston. The highlight of the tour was the cooking demonstration at a little restaurant that was closed to the public. There was just enough room for the tour guests to sit at the bar and watch Chef prepare our lunch, which was served with wine pairings. He explained what he was doing and why, and even gave us some preparation tips, all the while entertaining us with stories about Charleston and about his experiences as a chef. This was an outstanding tour that I would recommend to everyone!

Tour guide wove together history and food in a great way. I heard stories I had never heard before. The meal at the end is amazing with great wine pairings and food cooked in front of you with tips on how to make it yourself at home. Do eat a small breakfast before the tour as you eat at the very end of the tour.

This was one of the highlights of our trip. We loved the tour with the small group experience and Forrest Parker is the best! We loved everything about it. The walking tour was great with all of his knowledge but the private cooking experience with the wine tasting was phenomenal. I would go every time I am in Charleston. Loved it!!

If you could only do one tour in Charleston, this would be the one! Chef “Gump” is a wealth of knowledge in “all things Charleston”. He showed us nooks and crannies we would have never been able to explore onour own. And the food! We were treated to boiled peanuts, the best red pea soup, shrimp and grits and a bread pudding featuring Krispy Kreme donuts! The wine pairings were an added bonus. We came to Charleston for a month, did several tours, and this one is not to be missed. At the end of your time with Chef Parker you will feel like you’ve made a Charleston friend for life.

Touring Charleston with Chef Forrest was very informative and colorful. His tour is unique in that you learn more about the history of Charleston food with sprinkling of Charleston history itself. Then you end the tour with a generously delightful lunch; complete with champagne and wine pairings that are spot on! You will not be disappointed with this tour. Thank you Chef!

Learning about Charleston history , walking around the French Quarter Rainbow row and historic churches ! Great wine , delicious food prepared in front of us by chef Forrest Parker aka ‘Gump’ ! Chef Parker provided a lively and informative tour of Charleston. His incorporation of Charleston's culinary history was one of reasons we opted for this tour and we were not disappointed. The tour ended with a cooking demonstration and a lunch that highlighted ingredients of low country cuisine. The wine pairing as an added bonus. It was a morning well spent and would recommend to foodies and nonfoodies.
