What a great way to start a day! We only had 3 days in New Orleans, and booked this tour on day 1. We were picked in the French Quarter and driven to the boat station, from where an air boat took us to the swamp. That was the highlight of our trip! Airboats are fun to ride, plus got to see alligators and birds in their natural habitat. We all (two adults and two kids) were so happy and excited!! At the end of the ride, the guide took us to a quieter area of the swamp, with endless cypress trees and smaller bayous... which made my day. So serene, pristine and beautiful... Simply breathtaking... Highly recommend this tour to anyone. I think smaller airboats are the best, as they can take you through the smaller passages.

Jason was a great swamp boat guide and was very knowledgeable about the swamp, bayou and marsh areas we toured. He has a favorite older gator, Squiggles, who came to see us and be pet and snack on marshmallows.

Sliding across the bayou

Highly recommend attraction. We went on the this tour to experience an airboat ride and see the bayous and maybe catch the glimpse of a gator. We got to do all of that and then some. Small airboat is what we chose and it was perfect. Able to go in places the bigger boats couldn't plus more manevourable. Hotel pickup from the charter company was good also.

Hey, stop scrolling & book it - stop looking for something to do…this was a great time! Yes, it’s educational. Yes, you get to go on a air boat. Yes, you do see animals (‘gators small and medium sized ones - we didn’t see any 15 foot one. We sure did see the rest. Oh, it’s also educational. GO!

A Nice Departure from the City

Brad was a very good guide (and very fun sense of humor!) who shared his experiences with both nature and the challenges of hurricanes and private landowners and the effects of oil drilling has had on the marshes. The love and positive treatment of the alligators gave me new insight into what is often viewed as a nuisance reptile. The airboat experience was amazing to cruise through the canals and bayous. A very fun departure from the French Quarter.....allows you to see how other people in LA live.

the guide was very knowledgeable about the swamps for sure. He had a great rapport with the gators, however, I found him unprofessional. He constantly cussed (there were no children on board), which would have been fine, except he also spoke ill of coworkers (bus drivers) and then at one point said "F**k the Ukraine". That was over the top and quite offensive, you know, since thousands of men, women and children are dying or suffering in the Ukraine.

Was a great time! Pick up at our hotel was convenient. Our guide was a hoot and was able to tell us a lot about not only the gators but the swamp and marshes as well as how they were impacted by Ida. Fun and informative. Was my favorite thing about my whole NOLA weekend!

Fun experience…but, small boat is where you get the speed and ability to maneuver all around the bayou…not an abundance of wildlife, that’s for sure…but, you can catch a gator or two giving you the eye…
