    The Gray Line 'Lighthouse' ticket office is located at Toulouse St and the Mississippi River (Steamboat Natchez Dock), just one block from Jackson Square in the French Quarter. Boarding begins at 6pm and departs at 7pm. The boat will return at 9pm. The band begins at 6pm, so be sure to arrive early!

What To Expect

Head to Toulouse Street in the French Quarter and board your beautiful riverboat. This paddlewheel ship — one of the last of its kind in New Orleans — will transport you back to the 19th century when ports bustled with produce-laden cargo ships, steamboats, and clandestine privateering.

Take a stroll along the deck as you begin the journey along the Mississippi River. Then have a seat in the cabin or on the outside deck, where you’ll get unobstructed views of the striking shoreline at dusk, and soak up some live jazz tunes from the Grammy-nominated Dukes of Dixieland, a true New Orleans-style band.

As for dinner, your Creole-inspired meal might includes favorites like from chicken and sausage gumbo and cheesy penne pasta. Top it off with signature bread pudding accompanied by coffee and tea.

Your evening cruise ends back at the departure point in the French Quarter.

You gave me a time of 7 pm to 10 pm for the jazz cruise, and it was 6pm to 9pm. We missed almost the first hour because you gave me the wrong time.

Food was not very good. The gumbo was under seasoned and the salad had a lot of bad lettuce. Pasta was way over cooked but tasty. The jazz band was wonderful. Enjoyed it overall.

The food was great - although I ate too much. The attentiveness of the wait staff (Sonya in particular) was top-notch. The Dukes of Dixie Band could not have been better. The narration of what we were seeing along the banks of the river was thorough and well thought out. I would not change a thing - you arer doing it right.

Lovely evening, great to see the city at night from the river. Interesting information about the surroundings although hard to hear when in the dinning room with background noise. Food was good. Value for money and reasonable variety. Would be a good option to do cruise without meal as then plenty of time to move around deck , listen to music and commentary. We had opted for 7.45 dinner and on arrival were given a 6.50pm ticket. We asked for later and they gave us 7.20pm not sure why no later possible as there seemed plenty of space in dining room. I was disappointed to receive a Mojito in a can, it was not pleasant. Generally good experience.

The dinner menu was quite ordinary. Further there are four levels of seating and the band does not play where you eat. The band plays on the top deck where there is limited seating and there is a scramble for seats. The jazz band however is spectacular and we did enjoy listening to them.
